15½" viola specs: viola body-length 15½" / 39.5cm (back-length); bow length 29.25" / 74.5cm (the same for all viola sizes 15"+); generally a starting point for the larger-sized 13+yo viola player and average-sized adults whose arm-length measures 25-26" / 63.5-66cm (measured center-of-shoulder to fingertips). Viola teachers generally recommend practicing with slightly smaller viola-sizing rather than going bigger, which may become more-problematic while developing playing technique, so overlapping w/a smaller viola is perfectly OK.

Our monthly rates and rental terms offer very favorable and affordable rental credit-to-purchase/rent-to-own (RTO) terms towards a brand-new high-quality size-up/step-up viola as the student grows!
Monthly rates shown are based upon a minimal full K-12 school season rental contract; typically 8-months ±/a month. Daily, weekly, month-by-month (short-term) rates are also available.
*100% of monthly payments up to one-year (12-full months!) will ALWAYS accumulate as credit towards purchase off the List Price/MSRP of a brand-new viola or ANY other string-orchestral instrument (i.e. violin, cello & double bass), INCLUDING THOSE LIST-PRICED AT JUST ½ THE LIST-PRICE OF THE LEGACY RENTAL INSTRUMENT! Any string instrument purchase with a List Price of less than ½ the List Price of the Legacy Rental Instrument on the contract may still get 50% of the RTO credit applied to that purchase.
*Asides from the 100% credit from the first 12-months of payments, all payments made after the first year will continue to accumulate as rent-to-own (RTO) credit-towards-purchase at 50%, applicable to all contiguous - non-canceled rental contracts (e.g. $25/mo payment the first year=$300 RTO credit-towards-purchase+$25/mo payment the second year=$150 RTO credit-towards-purchase=$450 total RTO credit-towards-purchase after 24-mo payments for example). Excess credit does not apply.
An Accidental Damage Waiver Insurance is available for all rental instrument outfits, and covers all accidental & repairable damages, malfunctions, wear & tear impairments, broken-string replacement labor costs (customer pays for replacement string(s)), checkup-adjustments & tuning-services, including the accompanying accessories & components / parts, and is typically applied at the start of the rental contract term and paid monthly along with the rental payment; opting-out of insurance and then adding insurance later will require that the instrument be returned to our shop for a full-inspection before insurance can be added.
This insurance does not cover loss or theft of the rental instrument or its accompanying accessories & components/parts. Johnny Music's 30-Day Quality & Workmanship Guarantee applies to ALL RENTALS whether or not renter opts-in or opts-out of the damage-waiver insurance at the start of the rental term.
Additional terms may apply, including early / premature rental-returns / contract-cancellation before completion of the low-rate/school term rental contract, non-payment of rental due (this is generally avoided with customer's mandatory enrolling in auto-pay with an eligible debit or credit card), and possible court/legal fees that may arise under extraordinary circumstaces of non-payment and non-return of Johnny Music rental property; additional details available upon preparation of the music instrument and its rental contract.
